Does Squidoo Really Work?

By Paul Duxbury | May 31, 2009

As those who read my blog on a regular basis will know I am a keen advocate of using Squidoo for placing quality, informative information on the internet. Whether it’s as a business, an individual or as an affiliate marketer then I have always said that you can achieve great results with it.

From time to time people have questioned whether Squidoo does actually work and whether it’s worth the effort. I was checking out some of my lenses today when I noticed that one I created out of general interest a little while back was receiving quite a reasonable volume of visitors. So I thought I would take a closer look to see what was going on.

Well! The phrase “how to use Twitter” (without the quote marks) is searched over 4,000 times a month. There are 138 million (that’s 138,000,000) results returned by Google as you can see from the screenshot below.

Does Squidoo Really Work? If done properly. Yes!

Paul, that is very cool to see that ranking within the Google search results. I think it”s absolutely amazing. You know that I am a diehard Google fan from way back. I love how Squidoo quality lenses can be indexed so efficiently to be found in Google searches. I just did a search for my best of on twitter to find it listed as #1 for those search terms. Google rocks!

Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment Julie – much appreciated.

It just goes to show that used properly (i.e. not spammy!) Squidoo achieves great results.

    Take care

    Paul

Well done Paul. I am really pleased that all your hard work is paying off. I too am seeing some good results these days with well researched key words and lens urls but Rome never was built in a day and neither is our presence on Squidoo!

Interesting, Paul. I was just telling my husband that what you do on Squidoo is what I should do, and would do if I had more time. My statement wasn’t totally true, though. I tend to run in tangents and create lenses on whims. You clearly have a plan, or at least a method. What I need to do is use my time to create a plan and then stick with it. In other words, I need to work smarter. What you do is an excellent example of working smart.

By the way, Squidoo works for me, too. It’s just that I know that I am in no way reaching its, and my own, full potential. That would be, should be, will be, the focus of my new plan.

Thanks for being such a good example.

My best lens in terms of traffic and ranking comes in the top 3 on Google for the most obvious search terms I’m delighted to say and has done from about a week or two after I published it last year. Other lenses come up high too in Google results so I know Squidoo works. Like Julie, I’ve been a long term fan of Google.

That’s very interesting. I will have to check to see where my best lens sets with Google. I do know that overall I get more traffic with Squidoo.
